The Marketing Manager at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) oversees the communication of the Whitewater brand across a variety of platforms and leads the marketing team on a day-to-day basis to engage the public. This position is responsible for the planning, execution and analysis of Whitewater’s marketing strategy and positioning within the outdoor and hospitality industries. The Marketing Manager and the broader marketing team is also responsible for supporting all internal Whitewater teams in the execution of brand and communication needs across all locations and business units. The Marketing Manager is an on-site, full-time, benefits eligible position and reports to the Brand Director.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Strategy
- Direct management of the internal marketing team to deliver a consistent and high-quality brand message centered around engaging the outdoor lifestyle.
- Relationship development with third party service providers and vendors to execute marketing projects and campaigns.
- Develop the future creative and communication strategy on behalf of the organization in conjunction with the marketing team and senior management.
Research & Analysis
- Develop an ongoing and intimate knowledge of the outdoor industry and Whitewater experiences to ensure that all marketing efforts are aligned with the outdoor lifestyle and the Whitewater brand.
- Proactively research and analyze opportunities for brand awareness across a variety of platforms to engage the organization’s target markets.
- Create trackable and data driven recaps and reports for all marketing efforts.
- Gather and analyze data for reporting on consumer behavior data and identify key performance metrics.
Project Management & Advertising
- Source, analyze and recommend marketing opportunities across a variety of mediums to promote Whitewater’s programming, products, and services.
- Identify, purchase, and execute all paid media opportunities on behalf of the Whitewater brand in conjunction with the marketing team.
- Drive the planning and execution of marketing deliverables to ensure on-time execution and alignment with brand standards.
Creative & Digital
- Work with external creatives to produce inspiring and relevant content centered around the outdoors including short films, written stories, photography collections, journals and other forms of inspirational content.
- Oversight of all Whitewater digital assets including websites, social media, e-commerce and other platforms.
- Perform continuous analysis on Whitewater’s audience and digital communication mix, including acquisitions and behaviors, across all platforms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline.
- 6+ years relevant marketing experience.
- Experience managing internal teams and third part service providers to execute campaigns.
- Intellectual curiosity and an aptitude for critical analysis.
- Efficient and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of social media platforms, HTML, CSS, WordPress, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in all weather and environmental conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
- Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
- All positions as Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.
