Fastbreak.ai is seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting to lead and oversee all financial and accounting operations for the organization. This role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on management of accounting practices, compliance, and reporting.
The ideal candidate is a CPA with extensive experience in SaaS, financial systems, multi-entity consolidations, and working with outside auditors. Familiarity with SAGE, NetSuite, or Great Plains is highly desirable.
The role is based in Charlotte, NC, and reports directly to the CEO.
Compensation: $135K/yr – $165K/yr plus bonus and stock options
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership:
- Drive financial strategy, planning, and forecasting to support company growth and profitability.
- Provide financial guidance to the CEO and executive team to inform key business decisions.
- Oversee financial consolidation and reporting across multiple entities.
- Accounting Management:
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and other external reporting obligations, working closely with outside auditors to ensure successful audits.
- System Implementation and Optimization:
- Manage the deployment and optimization of accounting systems, with preference for SAGE, NetSuite, or Great Plains.
- Enhance financial processes and controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- P&L and Budget Oversight:
- Manage and analyze multiple P&Ls across various business lines.
- Lead budgeting processes and track performance against financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster collaboration with other departments to align financial goals with company strategy.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with expertise in SaaS software.
- Experience with consumer products, sports technology, and youth sports industries is highly favorable.
- Familiarity with SAGE, NetSuite, Great Plains, or comparable accounting systems.
- Proven track record of managing financial consolidations and multi-entity reporting.
- Strong experience working with outside auditors and managing successful audit outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
