Position Overview

The Educational Consultant will provide personalized guidance to students throughout the admissions process, from applications and essays to interviews and resumes. This role requires strong knowledge of U.S. college admissions, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to mentor students with professionalism and care.

Consultants serve as trusted partners to families while upholding EWC’s mission of inclusivity and high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized coaching on applications, essays, resumes, and interviews.
  • Conduct 60-minute student sessions, preparing and submitting reports within 48 hours.
  • Manage a student caseload of up to 120 hours per month.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, share insights, and support team goals.
  • Utilize EWC’s curriculum while tailoring approaches to individual student needs.
  • Maintain accurate calendars and scheduling at least two months in advance.
  • Attend required monthly team meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Respond promptly to students, parents, and team communications (within one business day).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in college admissions, counseling, or higher education strongly preferred.
  • Experience in and passion for serving neurodiverse students, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. admissions processes, particularly within North Carolina.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple student cases and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and serving students of all backgrounds.

Position Details

  • Part-time, non-exempt, remote role (occasional in-person events may be required).
  • Flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends based on student needs.
  • Caseloads assigned monthly by senior leadership.
