About Discovery Place
One of the leading hands-on science museums in the nation, Discovery Place brings science, nature, and design together to create transformative experiences that enable the community to understand, enjoy, and apply science to their lives.
Through a network of four museums, Discovery Place Science in Uptown, Discovery Place Kids Huntersville and Discovery Place Kids Rockingham, along with the soon-to-open Charlotte Museum of Nature and virtual and in-person learning experiences outside of our Museums, Discovery Place is a 501c3 nonprofit leader in STEM education.

General summary
We are looking for a curious, motivated and innovative content creator and strategist to be chief storyteller for the Discovery Place Museums and brand. As our head of marketing content development and social engagement, you will discover, create, source and share compelling content to delight and engage audiences, while achieving strategic positioning objectives.
Scope includes developing content strategy, building and maintaining a deep connection to our audiences, managing our organic social channels and collaborating with colleagues on the creation of content for the four Discovery Place Museums. The ideal candidate has deep experience managing social media channels and developing strategic stories in all formats.

Working Conditions: We are currently in a hybrid schedule, in the office three days a week – subject to change according to business and position needs. This is not a remote-only position.
Travel: Must have the ability to travel to our four local museums regularly, with limited other travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None at this time.
