The Queen’s Mahjery is Charlotte’s newest spot for all things mahjong, situated in Oakhurst Commons off of Monroe Road. Our studio has been imagined and designed to be to fun, upscale and modern and most importantly, welcoming for all.

It is a place where you can unplug, connect with old friends, make new ones, and enjoy the centuries-old strategy game. Whether guests are dropping in for casual play, joining as members, competing in tournaments, or celebrating a private event, we handle all the details

We are seeking a reliable and punctual individual who is available for a flexible part-time schedule, including evenings and weekends to join our team.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and a welcoming, professional demeanor when interacting with guests. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail are required. While prior knowledge of mahjong play and rules are preferred, it is not a requirement.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet players, check in guests, and answer questions about bookings and events.
Table Setup: Set up mahjong tables, tiles, racks, and scorecards before games begin.
Studio Maintenance: Keep the lounge area, tables, and tile sets clean and organized.
Retail & Inventory: Assist with retail merchandise sales, track inventory of studio supplies, and restock refreshments/retail displays.
Administrative Support: Manage phone calls, reply to email inquiries, and process table reservations or event registrations through the studio booking system.
Marketing Assistance: Help take photos or short videos of lively game nights to support the studio’s social media and marketing efforts.
Event Support: Help staff host tournaments, private parties, and themed game nights.
