The Global Operations Accounting Manager will be a key leader on the Finance team and will report directly to the Senior Director – Global Finance. This position contributes to the organization’s success by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of complex accounting functions, supporting key processes, driving cost savings, and contributing to internal financial reporting.
The main responsibilities of the Global Operations Accounting Manager include primary oversight responsibility for month-end close for COGS/inventory, managing the global Accounts Payable function, and overseeing global standard costing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and mentor team of three direct reports.
- Execute month-end close for COGS-related activities including accruals, variance trend analysis and reporting.
- Oversee global standard costing including new product costing and annual cost updates.
- Participate in the monthly forecast and annual budgeting process for assigned areas.
- Manage global Accounts Payable process including invoice posting, vendor management and weekly payment runs.
- Complete Excess and Obsolescence analysis and assist the organization as needed with driving resolution.
- Manage financial aspects of the prepaid inventory process.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and partner with Operations to drive realization.
- Create and maintain documentation on processes and procedures related to areas of responsibility.
- Participate in other projects and assignments as needed to support the goals of the department.
- Work cross functionally with other departments to support organizational needs.
- Anticipate and meet business demands in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Master’s Degree in Accounting a plus
- 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience with mid-large companies, including supervisory responsibilities
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient with other software applications (Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with AS400 and/or HFM preferred
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams as well as demonstrated ability to understand broad business and financial issues.
- Highly self-motivated with a proven track record of multi-tasking abilities
- Highly organized, meticulously attentive to detail, and able to set priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and proactively assess problems and create solutions
