As an Editorial Manager (Copywriting Manager), you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing all aspects of copywriting within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the creation of compelling, clear, and brand-aligned content across various channels. You will manage a team of copywriters, collaborate closely with brief writers, designers, and external agency partners to uphold high standards of quality and consistency in messaging. This role requires a blend of creative prowess, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills.
What You Will Do:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage a team of copywriters, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team and how to evolve the work.
- Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Content Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and execute content strategies for large-scale campaigns.
- Oversee the creation of compelling copy for various channels, including digital platforms, print materials, advertisements, email campaigns, social media, and more.
- Ensure all copy is accurate, engaging, and adheres to brand voice, style guidelines, and SEO best practices.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with brief writers to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Collaborate with agency partners on campaign ideation and planning, offering copywriting expertise to enhance messaging effectiveness and campaign success.
- Build strong relationships with partners in .com, internal communications and PR to drive consistent voice for the brand.
Quality Assurance and Creative Direction:
- Conduct thorough reviews and edits to ensure high-quality, error-free copy that meets project objectives and deadlines.
- Implement processes for content review and approval, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards when necessary.
- Analyze the performance of copywriting efforts using relevant metrics and optimize content based on insights and feedback.
Industry Knowledge and Trends:
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in copywriting and content marketing.
- Share insights and knowledge with the team to drive continuous improvement and innovation in content development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, or related field and 5-7 Years Professional writing experience
- Experience managing direct reports
- 5-7 Years Online content creation and management experience
- 5-7 Years Creative, Editorial, or Content Marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish
- Retail experience
- Familiarity with keyword placement and SEO
