Job Description
Prepare estimates for submission to the Client. Submit RFI’s for bid clarifications. Coordinate and attend site visits. Work with the construction department to turn over projects.
Qualifications
- Construction estimating experience (2+ years preferred)
- College degree
- Strong knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, and architectural/engineered drawings
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, problem solver with strong organization skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare sub-list based on complexity and size of project
- Attend and/or organize site visits with respective trades
- Thoroughly read and review drawings and associated bid package
- Assist in preparing RFP packages with other departments
- Submit RFI’s to appropriate parties for clarifications regarding scope, details, and specifications
- Forward RFI’s responses to respective sub-contractors
- Prepare quantity take-offs of drawings and compare scope with sub-contractors for accuracy
- Review and confirm completeness of subcontractor quotes
- Prepare bid forms for estimate submission
- Review project with Estimators and/or Owner prior to submitting to Client
- Engage construction department during bid process for information regarding schedule, lead times, and pertinent building information
- Revise and update estimate as required
- Provide Value Engineering options as requested by Client
- Answer all estimate related questions post bid submission
- Run turnover meeting with Project Manager, Superintendent, Project Engineer and Administrative Assistants
- Approve and stamp sub-estimates for accounting department
- Update & maintain databases including but not limited to Project Summary, and Unit Pricing
Pay Range:
$70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year. Additional bonus opportunity.
