We’re looking for a Lead YouTube Video Editor to help produce our long-form, “edu-tainment”-style YouTube videos about business, franchising, and entrepreneurship.

Our marketing team handles all topic ideation, scripting, and filming. You’ll bring it to life by shaping the story and pace, creating visuals and motion graphics, and implementing effects to make each video feel smart, modern, and entertaining.

The style we’re after blends talking-head delivery with dynamic visuals and will be similar in tone to channels like Established Context or Michael Girdley.

If you love taking an idea and raw materials and turning them into something that feels premium, educational, and engaging, you’ll thrive in this role.

This is a contract position to start but has the potential to evolve into a full-time role and include additional scope long-term (e.g. short form social video editing, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Edit 1–2 YouTube videos per week (8-15 minutes each)
  • Build narrative pacing and flow from talking-head and b-roll footage
  • Add graphics, text callouts, charts, light animations, and other effects to reinforce key ideas
  • Select and mix music for tone and rhythm
  • Deliver first cuts within 3-5 days of receiving assets
  • Collaborate closely with our team for quick feedback and final delivery

What We Provide

  • Complete scripts and filmed footage (talking-head + any product or setting shots)
  • Brand kit (logos, fonts, and style direction)
  • Reference videos for tone and pacing

Ideal Candidate

  • Regularly consumes YouTube content and knows how to create engaging content that will win on this platform
  • Experienced editing educational or business-focused YouTube content a plus but not necessary to apply
  • Strong sense of pacing and visual rhythm – can hold viewer attention without over-editing
  • Comfortable coming up with ideas for and designing motion graphics, text overlays, and charts
  • Skilled in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (After Effects a plus)
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive in communication
  • Thrives in a highly experimental environment and loves to test new ideas and iterate using data to inform decisions

Compensation

  • Contract position to start, paid as a day rate, with potential for full-time employment long-term
  • Consistent weekly work available for the right fit
  • Please share your day rate as part of your application

To Apply

At the bottom of the resume you upload, please provide:

  1. Links to your two most successful YouTube videos (based on performance or client results). If you haven’t produced for YouTube specifically, please share two examples from your portfolio that demonstrate the relevant skills.
  2. One video you’re personally most proud of, with an explanation of why you’re proud of it.
  3. Any other videos that feel similar to what we described.
  4. Your desired day rate for this position.
