Hello Thursday. I'm embarrassed to tell you that last Friday's Charlotte FC playoff game was the first soccer game I've attended in Bank of America Stadium.
What have I been thinking?! Electric atmosphere. Love the chants. Love the Knight lighting the torch. Love the high fives my 10 year old gave to the lady next to him when we won in PKs.
And thank you to Tiny Money reader Adam Butler, for hooking us up with 5 seconds on the jumbotron. I felt like a badass telling the other dad I was with (investment banker) that I had a “jumbotron guy.”
Now I’ve got to figure out how to watch Saturday’s 6pm Charlotte FC game against Orlando on Apple TV+. Anyways.
💼 Hot Job: Senior Content Designer at Red Ventures ($75K – $125K). Hiring manager is Olivia French who cut her digital media teeth covering cocktails for Liquor.com.
👨Shout-out: Katrina Hutchins, event planner and Swiftie, for designing a gorgeous High Hampton wedding and amassing 11.9K Instagram followers (influencer levels!).

Steakhouse Roll hits “must order” status as Yunta owners debut Oshen at Colony Place
Steakhouse Roll, Oshen's #1 most popular dish
I'm a big fan of Randy and Cinthya Garcia, the brains behind Yunta and Viva Chicken — so I immediately booked a reservation for their new sushi restaurant when it opened 9 days ago.
Price check: Oshen is shockingly inexpensive. My wife and I ordered 7 dishes and 2 cocktails. The total bill was $116.
Vibe: It's neighborhoody, which makes sense considering Randy and Cynthia live nearby with their 2 kids. There were several dudes wearing t-shirts and parents with kids. I pictured more of a trendy O-Ku vibe, but it felt more Mama Ricotta's casual.
Instructions: Sounds boring, but order the edamame with chili garlic to start ($6). So good. Also order the hamachi jalapeño crudo ($15) and of course, the steakhouse roll ($12).

HOT DOG STARTUP

Bryce Rech leaves law firm job and raises $500K to launch Gleezy Dog

Gleezy Dog aims to revolutionize the golf turn house market as "the first premium hot dog company by golfers, for golfers."
Investors: "We raised $500K. Founders span from golf broadcaster, to golf course developer, to food industry expert, to creative director."
Dog details: "A Gleezy is two parts all beef double-smoked brisket dog and a tangy mustard vinegar sauce with a little heat. 1/5 lb and developed in Chicago."
Market research: "I’ve eaten more dogs in the last 2 years than I have in my first 40 years."
Early sales: "We’ve sold or sampled about 40,000 hot dogs in the first 5 weeks. We're built to sell through 150 distributors nationwide and target golf clubs, restaurants, and sports arenas/tournaments. No retail yet, so if you want to try a Gleezy locally, you can find us at a golf course (CCC and Cedarwood), Lebowski's, Laurel Market, Reid's, and Boardwalk Billy’s."
Bryce's plug: "If you’re sick of eating shitty dogs at your local course, ask for Gleezy. US Foods, Sysco, PFG, all the big guys are now carrying it and ready to ship!"

Money Talks is a weekly series showcasing how real people in Charlotte approach money. Participate.
Job: “I own a content and consulting business. I started my career making $35K, but then I launched my first business in my early 20s and made 10x. Part luck and part because I'd found a niche.”
What’s “rich” in Charlotte? “It used to be subtle and understated, now it's flashy and showy. It's now perfectly acceptable for people making $500K to drop $3M on a (small?) house in Eastover. That's insanity. Those people are not rich — they're scraping by. The richest people in Charlotte are the ones who make enough money to buy the house in Foxcroft, send their kids to Country Day, join Charlotte Country Club — and choose not to do it.”
Money hack: “At the airport, park in Daily rather than Hourly. It's an extra hundred yards of walking for half the price.”
Savings goal: “We have a giving goal. Each year, we give between 20% and 40% of pre-tax income to our Donor Advised Fund. DAFs are such an incredible tool.”
Retirement: “To quote a friend who retired a few years ago, ‘When you work, play is play. When you're retired, play is work.’ No thanks.”
