The Opportunity
The Manager, Social Media Growth Optimization is responsible for driving growth and innovation across Ally’s organic social channels. In this role, the social media manager will shape and execute Ally’s organic social media strategies, focusing on audience growth and increasing brand awareness in the financial industry. This role reports to the Director of Consumer Engagement while collaborating closely with external agencies, internal sponsorship and partnership teams, creative services, PR, and others to cement Ally’s position as a leader in the space.
Ally work location is Charlotte NC – in office role with hybrid schedule

The Work Itself
- Drive the ideation and execution of brand awareness strategies for Ally’s organic social channels to boost brand visibility and category awareness with new and existing audiences
- Implement a clear content and amplification strategy for brand partners on organic channels, cross-collaborating to build organic social extensions that amplify efforts across other mediums
- Ensure consistent strategies and content execution across Ally’s social media channels, working closely with internal and external social partners to ensure the voice, tone and messaging is on-brand across all content streams
- Partner with external agency resources to identify and execute on relevant social media trends or cultural moments that translate into unique and ownable concepts for the brand
- Lead social listening efforts to stay informed about industry conversations and emerging trends that with inform actionable recommendations to the evolving growth strategies
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics, followed by continuous monitoring and advancement of those metrics, reporting to leadership on regular basis
- Manage internal stakeholder relationships to provide advertising and social media expertise and education
- Keep up with new and emerging industry and consumer trends to identify opportunities and potential partners, tools, new platforms and best practices
- Ensure all content is routed through appropriate approval systems for publishing
The Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of professional marketing social media experience required
- 2-3 years of experience in social marketing, brand building or multi-channel campaigns preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Prior digital/social agency experience.
- Knowledge of auto or financial services business a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues inside and outside the organization.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task.
- Works well under pressure and is able to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage tactical projects.
- Attention to detail.

Base Pay Range: $90,000 – $125,000 USD
An individual’s position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
- Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
