Project Manager

THE POSITION

The Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of customer-focused projects across the TaxBandits platform.

This role is highly cross-functional, combining client engagement, compliance understanding, and internal team coordination to ensure customers have a smooth, accurate, and efficient experience with our tax e-file solutions.

You will act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams — gathering requirements, ensuring IRS compliance, translating customer needs into actionable project plans, and guiding projects through completion. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and comfortable managing multiple customer initiatives simultaneously.

Please note: This is an in-office role based in Rock Hill, SC. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate prior to starting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Engagement & Requirements

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer project needs.
• Translate customer requirements, compliance needs, and IRS regulations into clear project plans.
• Ensure expectations are well-defined, documented, and communicated across internal teams.

Project Management & Coordination

• Plan, manage, and execute customer-facing projects from kickoff through delivery.
• Coordinate with engineering, compliance, customer support, and operations to ensure timely project completion.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.

Compliance & Accuracy

• Ensure customer projects meet IRS e-filing standards and compliance requirements.
• Validate accuracy and completeness of customer submissions and workflows.
• Identify compliance gaps and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.

Customer Experience & Performance Tracking

• Improve customer experience through proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Track project outcomes and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support customer onboarding, training, and go-to-market readiness for new services or features.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 5+ years of experience in product management or software project management.
• Background in SaaS, fintech, software products, or tax technology.
• Experience working with Agile development teams.
• Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from data and user behavior.

Nice to Have

• Experience with tax software, e-filing systems, or IRS compliance.
• Knowledge of accounting, tax compliance, or financial systems.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Figma, analytics tools, and other product-management platforms.
