Hello Thursday. Last night was my 10-year-old son’s first Mannerly etiquette class hosted at Myers Park Country Club!
I should have done a trade deal with my friend Elizabeth Anne, but instead I paid the full $570 for 5 classes. Credit to her for leaving her cushy Wells Fargo job and going all in.
“Dad, I had to box step dance with a girl,” my son told me as he loosed his tie and ill-fitting blazer. I LOLed.
Will he continue to greet adult males with a bro handshake and casual “Sup dude?” Only time will tell! Anyways.
đź’ĽÂ Hot Job:Â Franchise Advisor at Franzy ($100K – $115K base, 15% commission). Startup dubbed the "Zillow of Franchising." Work with CEO Alex Smereczniak, who previously founded 2ULaundry.
💰 Number: $300M. Target size of ex-NFL player Muhsin Muhammad’s new PE fund focused on health and wellness-centric food and beverage brands.
👨 Shout-out: Kristina and AJ Sankofa, owners of the new Eso Pasta food stall in Optimist Hall, for going through 80 pounds of chicken each day making their viral $14 Sicilian Fried Chicken Nuggets. Tasty!

PIONEER TEACHER
Thousands of educators nationwide turn to Brian Li to teach middle schoolers money
Badass 45-year-old teacher Brian Li at Providence Day
How it started: Obsessed with the positive impacts of financial literacy, Providence Day teacher Brian Li piloted a middle school Personal Finance class 5 years ago.
-
Feedback was "overwhelmingly positive" and Brian switched from math teacher to personal finance teacher.
-
Now dozens of schools across the country and thousands of educators use his free curriculums, guides, and tools.
Start early: "If kids can learn the Pythagorean theorem in grade school, they can certainly understand compound interest and the power of a diversified, low-cost investment portfolio."
Classes: Brian teaches 8th grade Personal Finance (budgeting, credit, saving, investing, insurance, taxes) and high school Financial Analytics (asset classes, equities, securities).
Important: "Financial literacy is as essential as reading or math, because today’s students face financial choices earlier and with higher stakes than ever."
Favorite tool: "Roth IRA. Every dollar grows tax-free. It’s one of the simplest and most powerful ways to build generational wealth."
Giving back: Brian posts his 183-page course packets, PowerPoint lessons, and course workbooks online — for free 🤯
